Cats + Care & Wellness

  • A wellness examination is a routine medical examination of a patient that is apparently healthy, as opposed to an examination of a patient that is ill. A wellness examination may also be called a ‘check-up’ or a ‘physical examination’. The focus of a wellness visit is the maintenance of optimal health.

  • Most of the time cats are a source of amusement, but sometimes they can be a source of embarrassment. One of the more embarrassing things that cats do is to lick their “private” parts in public.

  • Veterinary care seems expensive. Here are some of the reasons behind the costs of veterinary care, and some things that you, as a pet owner, can do to help make it affordable.

  • Avoiding illness is always better than treating it. Creating a preventative health care plan for your cat will help your cat live a long, healthy life.

  • While punishment can be effective at decreasing those behaviors that are undesirable (when applied within 1 to 2 seconds), if not administered properly it can aggravate existing problems and cause new ones.

  • Pets and people need some zinc in their diets. However, too much zinc can cause serious health problems.
